Flora and fauna, and a strange looking crow!!

Had a wonderful selection of bees and butterflies this afternoon, not sure what the proper name is for this red bottomed bee, but it was huge!!! And, it seemed to enjoy my sweet peas!!!

My first peacock flutter!!! If it wasnt for this forum, i would probably not have a clue about these creatures! Such a pretty butterfly x
The flutters seem to like my ground feeding table!!

I think this is a comma! Can someone correct me if im wrong please!! it was on my garden shed for ages!! x

I know this is a 'cabbage white', had lots of these today! My next door neighbour but one, has a huge buddleia, and it has been covered in 'red admirals' today! Pete told me what they were, he surprises me with his knowledge of wildlife sometimes! He pretends not to be interested!!!

A few pics of my first Hollyhock flowers! So pretty! x

My first Hollyhock flowers! I didn't have a clue what these were going to look like, my friend gave them to me to plant last august, and they were 3 inches tall!!!

This unusual looking crow(i think its a crow!!) was in my garden eating seeds for ages this afternoon! Its markings were strange, had lots of white patches on it, when it flew away there was loads of white under its wings!!Pete was here, and said it looked like an old crow ! and then went on to say, just like me!!!!!!The cheek of him!!!

Wednesday's very wet birdies!! x

The young sturks seem to enjoy the rain, unlike most of the others!!!!! Their colours are looking lovely, dont you think? x

Mrs B not enjoying the rain!!!!!!

These 2 pics make me laugh! If you enlarge them, you can see a lovely mixture of birdies trying to shelter from this torrential rain! The sturk on the left amuses me!! x

..and ... the dove and little sparrows waiting patiently on the fence x All of these pics show the only birds ive seen today, apart from a juvenile grenfinch!!!

The baby sparrows were joined by a greenfinch this morning!!! Not sure if its a juvenile???
